Rep. Brian Mast, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Florida’s 21st district, has shared several updates via social media on July 6, 2025. These posts provide insights into his perspectives on various topics ranging from procedural facts about the House of Representatives to issues concerning immigration and local infrastructure.

In a tweet posted at 13:13 UTC, Rep. Mast shared an interesting detail about the House of Representatives’ rules: “Fun fact about the House of Representatives: you’re not allowed on the Floor of the House during votes unless you’re a Member, a designated staffer…or if you’re under 12 years old!” He extended an invitation to constituents planning to visit Washington, offering assistance from his team for tours.

Later that day at 20:14 UTC, he addressed immigration statistics by noting a decrease in illegal immigrant encounters by Border Police. He stated that “RECORDS SHATTERED—Border Police encountered just over 6,000 illegal immigrants in June, which is 15% LOWER than the previous record from March.” He credited this reduction to what he described as aggressive and effective enforcement by the current administration.

At 22:39 UTC, Rep. Mast criticized Florida East Coast Rail for its conduct regarding local infrastructure issues. He expressed his dissatisfaction with their operations by saying “Florida East Coast Rail continues to be a bad neighbor, it’s time they step up and clean up THEIR mess.”

Brian Mast has served in Congress since replacing Patrick Murphy in 2017 and previously served in the Florida House of Representatives. Born in Grand Rapids, Michigan in 1980 and currently residing in Fort Pierce, Mast graduated from Harvard University Extension School with a BA in 2016.
