Rep. Brian Mast, a U.S. Congressman representing Florida’s 21st district since 2017, used his Twitter account on May 11, 2026, to highlight both Police Week and hurricane preparedness for his constituents.

In two separate posts on May 11, Mast addressed the importance of honoring law enforcement officers during Police Week. In one tweet at 16:05 UTC, he stated: “As we honor law enforcement during Police Week, we recognize the selfless dedication to protect our communities and keep our families safe. We also remember the heroes who gave their lives in the line of duty. The Medal of Sacrifice stands as a tribute to the law enforcement https://t.co/6f1B7fK7eD”. Later that evening at 21:10 UTC, Mast reiterated this message with an identical post: “As we honor law enforcement during Police Week, we recognize the selfless dedication to protect our communities and keep our families safe. We also remember the heroes who gave their lives in the line of duty. The Medal of Sacrifice stands as a tribute to the law enforcement”.

Between these tributes, Mast turned attention to public safety ahead of hurricane season with a tweet at 19:22 UTC: “Hurricane season is right around the corner. Whether you’re new to Florida or just need a refresher, now is the time to review hurricane categories, know your evacuation zone, and have a plan to keep your family safe. https://t.co/p07tG8wIxP”.

Mast has represented Florida’s 21st District in Congress since succeeding Patrick Murphy in 2017 and previously served in the Florida House of Representatives. Born in Grand Rapids, Michigan in 1980 and currently residing in Fort Pierce, Mast graduated from Harvard University Extension School with a BA in 2016.
