Rep. Brian Mast, U.S. Congressman representing Florida’s 21st district since 2017, addressed local weather conditions, environmental conservation, and national economic performance in a series of recent social media posts.
On July 29, Mast alerted constituents to severe heat conditions in his district: “HEAT ADVISORY: #FL21, the heat index could get to 110 degrees today, and St. Lucie & Martin Counties are under a heat advisory until 7pm.” The warning comes as extreme temperatures continue to impact Florida communities during the summer months.
Later that day, Mast highlighted World Nature Conservation Day by referencing the unique ecosystems found along the Treasure and Palm Beach Coasts: “Today’s World Nature Conservation Day. Our communities in the Treasure & Palm Beach Coasts know how important conservation is for our ecosystems—some of the most unique in the world.”
On July 30, Mast commented on recent economic data and national leadership: “Once again, the numbers show that our economy is doing ‘BETTER than expected,’ and at this point, it’s obvious to everyone that underestimating @POTUS ALWAYS backfires.”
Mast has represented Florida’s 21st District since succeeding Patrick Murphy in Congress in 2017. He previously served in the Florida House of Representatives and holds a BA from Harvard University Extension School (graduated 2016). Born in Grand Rapids, Michigan in 1980, he currently resides in Fort Pierce.
