Rep. Brian Mast, a U.S. Congressman representing Florida’s 21st district since 2017, recently addressed several topics on his official Twitter account, including government funding, support for American athletes at the Winter Olympics, and rail safety legislation.

On February 8, 2026, Mast commented on ongoing budget negotiations in Congress. He stated, “After Senate Democrats forced us into a brief, partial federal shut down, we passed all but one of the remaining funding bills. We’re not done yet but I’ll keep fighting for a fully funded government.”

Shortly after, Mast offered encouragement to U.S. athletes competing internationally. On the same day he posted: “Good luck to every American representing us in this winter’s Olympics. GO TEAM USA!”

Later that morning, Mast highlighted his legislative efforts regarding transportation safety: “I co-sponsored the Safer Rail Crossing Act because our communities deserve every resource possible to implement the best possible safety mechanisms.”

Mast has represented Florida’s 21st district since replacing Patrick Murphy in 2017 and previously served in the Florida House of Representatives. Born in Grand Rapids, Michigan in 1980 and currently residing in Fort Pierce at age 42, Mast graduated from Harvard University Extension School with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2016.
