Rep. Brian Mast, a U.S. Congressman representing Florida’s 21st district since 2017, addressed a range of issues on his social media account in early August 2025, including environmental threats, Medicaid fraud, and employment policy.

On August 6, Mast posted about the impact of invasive species in Florida, stating: “Burmese pythons are devastating our ecosystems. They kill native wildlife, and they’re spreading far beyond the Everglades. If you spot one, report it immediately: 888-Ive-Got1.”

The following day, Mast turned his attention to healthcare fraud with another post: “Medicaid fraud is theft. Stealing from the taxpayer & our nation’s most vulnerable is appalling, and it’s why our One Big Beautiful Bill specifically cracks down on this kind of abuse.” This message referenced legislative efforts aimed at addressing fraudulent practices within Medicaid.

Later on August 7, Mast commented on employment priorities: “We’re making sure that American jobs are going to American citizens.”

Mast has represented Florida’s 21st District in Congress since replacing Patrick Murphy in 2017. He previously served in the Florida House of Representatives and holds a degree from Harvard University Extension School. Born in Grand Rapids, Michigan in 1980, Mast currently resides in Fort Pierce.
