Brian Mast, a U.S. Congressman representing Florida’s 21st District since 2017, shared his views on border security and energy prices through a series of tweets on July 8, 2025. Mast, who succeeded Patrick Murphy in Congress and has previously served in the Florida House of Representatives, emphasized issues central to his legislative priorities.

In a tweet posted at 14:22 UTC, Mast stated his support for border security measures: “This is exactly why I voted to fully fund the border and hire additional border patrol agents. We can’t allow dangerous criminals to just slip through the cracks and threaten American lives. Secure the border & enforce the law.”

Later that day at 15:51 UTC, Mast commented on gas prices in West Palm Beach during Independence Day celebrations: “West Palm Beach drivers enjoyed the cheapest Independence Day gas prices since 2021! Unleashing American energy means affordability at the pump and it means more money stays in Florida families’ pockets.”

At 19:00 UTC, he addressed threats against immigration and law enforcement officers, urging political unity: “Inciting violence or threatening our immigration and law enforcement officers is unacceptable & offenders should be charged to the fullest extent of the law. Every Democrat should recommit their support for the brave men and women who work to keep us safe.”

Brian Mast was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, in 1980 and currently resides in Fort Pierce. He graduated from Harvard University Extension School with a BA in 2016.
